Warm, thoughtful support for children and the people around them

Kaylyn Nentwich
Kaylyn Nentwich Founder

Hi! I’m Kaylyn. :)

I’ve spent more than eight years working with children, and one thing I’ve learned is that kids need more than another adult telling them what to do. They need someone who listens, understands their world, and helps them feel safe enough to be themselves.

Peaked Mind is grounded in thoughtful care, clear goals, practical tools, and a family-centered perspective. Parents deserve to feel supported too! The future Peaked Mind counseling experience is intended to feel warm, understandable, and genuinely useful—wherever care takes place.

REASONS PEOPLE REACH OUT

You do not need the perfect label before asking for support

Sometimes you know exactly what is happening. Sometimes you only know that something feels harder than it should. Either is enough to start a conversation.

COACHING & WORKSHOPS

More ways to support the people supporting children

COMMON QUESTIONS

Choosing a counselor is personal. These are good questions to ask

Peaked Mind combines long-standing experience with children, pediatric behavioral-health exposure, and a whole-person, family-centered perspective. The intended future approach is warm and human, with enough structure that people understand what they are working on and why.

Children often communicate through behavior, play, avoidance, humor, silence, or emotion before they can explain what is happening in adult language. Years spent around children can make it easier to understand that communication and build trust without forcing it.

The Peaked Mind approach considers the whole person in context. That means considering family, school, relationships, environment, strengths, stressors, and systems—not only a symptom list. Counseling will not open until all applicable Washington credentialing, supervision, and practice requirements are in place.

Yes. When counseling opens, Peaked Mind plans to serve people across life stages—including young adults, adults, parents, and families—while maintaining a special focus on children and the people who support them.
